Winter 1997, Beyoğlu district of Istanbul, indoors.
The lights blinking, the music is loud and intense, the crowd are in motion, I remember the sound of a drum coming from the floor, and somebody dancing in the crowd...
Years passed, now H.A. wants his mirrors.
The photograph I sent was taken by a dance photographer named Anja Hitzenberger, of David Zombrano. Zombrano made the following comment for it:
''Anja this photo really is me! This is what I do, what I feel when I dance!''
This photograph reminds me of the trance enjoyed by H.A., who wants his mirrors, while dancing, as I observed at various joints where the music and motions were intense.
It is another way to make room among the crowds, and the spontaneity of its form of expression probably gets this photograph closer to you.
